  Byrd Station Plot Map .jpg - This is the engineering plot map of this new Byrd Station, opened in 1962. Number codes for the various buildings can be read from the next slide. The tunnels varied in length but were approximately 300 feet long and 50 feet under the surface. Tunnel L3 at the left leads to the vehicle ramp and up to the surface.
