SEARCH THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE

You may research any medical topic at no cost in the National Library of Medicine Database (PubMed or MEDLINE).  We encourage you to search the PubMed database on any medical topic you have an interest in. However, keep in mind that only 20% or so of the world's total biomedical literature is indexed by the National Library of Medicine (the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Public Health Service). Many clinical reports of alternative, complimentary and integrative medicine are  censored out.  The PubMed database is biased toward pharmaceutical and surgical therapies.   Nonetheless, PubMed is a huge database, continuously updated,  including abstracts of an enormous amount of medical research and technical information going back 35 years.  Copies of full text articles may be obtained by visiting the closest medical school or hospital library. Many can be downloaded online, sometimes with a fee.
